SUMMARY:Accessibility in Learning: From Compliance to Meaningful Inclusion at Learning Technologies London
DESCRIPTION:In this Learning Technologies session with Susi Miller and Rob Hubbard\, we will challenge common assumptions and misconceptions about accessibility and reframe it as a driver of innovation\, growth\, and competitive advantage. Through real-world examples and practical discussion\, you’ll discover how everyday design decisions either remove or reinforce barriers – and why shifting from reactive fixes to proactive\, inclusive design benefits everyone.

SUMMARY:ATD 2026 International Conference & EXPO
DESCRIPTION:Rethinking Learning Ecosystems: Meeting Learners and Organizations Where They Are\n Monday\, May 18\, 2026 1:00 PM to 2:00 PMTracie Cantu\, Josh Cavalier\, JD Dillon\, Koreen Pagano\, and Sarah Mercier \nToday’s learners expect personalized learning experiences in the flow of work\, while organizations demand measurable impact and agility. This panel explores the essential elements of a modern learning ecosystem\, from skills data and AI-powered content to embedded performance support and real-time analytics. Learn how leading organizations are building connected\, modular learning ecosystems that align development with business goals. Discover strategies to rethink your learning ecosystem to meet evolving learner needs and drive meaningful outcomes. \nThis is a panel discussion that will explore why and how the learning ecosystem is changing. \n\nAdvancing Accessibility Beyond One Person\nWednesday\, May 20\, 2026 8:00 AM to 8:20 AMSarah Mercier \nWhen we talk about accessibility in learning\, the focus often lands on what one person can do. But accessibility at scale isn’t a solo effort. It’s a shared responsibility that requires alignment across teams\, tools\, and processes. In this Talent Talk\, we’ll explore how shifting from individual action to collaborative strategy leads to more sustainable\, scalable accessibility.

SUMMARY:Training Magazine Webinar
DESCRIPTION:AI and Accessibility: Passing the Scan\, Failing the User\nAI can generate content\, format a slide\, and confidently tell you a document passes WCAG 2.2 AA… right before it gets the accessibility wrong. This session was inspired by eight hours of vibe coding a single accessible one-pager: what AI got right\, where it quietly broke reading order and heading structure\, and why a perfect automated accessibility score isn’t the same as what works for real people. \nIn this session\, we will discuss how to bring intentional\, human-centered accessibility practices into AI-assisted workflows\, using AI to support learning and development without letting it decide what “accessible enough” means. You’ll leave with a practical way to evaluate AI-generated content\, know when to trust automated checkers (and when not to)\, and keep people at the center of your design decisions. \nLearning Objectives / Takeaways \n\nIdentify risks of using AI and vibe coding to support accessibility and inclusion\, including bias\, error\, and false confidence in “passing” results.\nEvaluate and correct AI-generated content for reading order\, heading structure\, and semantic accuracy.\nGenerate and verify alt text and image descriptions using popular AI-supported tools and models.\nDiscover how AI-powered tools can help you create closed captions and transcripts.\nBuild a workflow that combines automated accessibility checkers with real assistive technology testing.

SUMMARY:DevLearn 2026
DESCRIPTION:310: Un-Clutter Your Data for AI\nNovember 4\, 2026 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm \nCollecting data is the easy part. Collecting intelligent data that is easily read and utilized by AI powered systemsis where it gets tough. \nThis session provides guidance\, starting with collecting data that provides value and structure for current AI systems. No matter how you collect the data—xAPI\, cmi5\, Google Analytics\, others—it can come in fast and furious and quickly get messy. Most of the specifications are easy to implement\, i.e.\, there is not much coding involved\, if any at all. Where your time should be spent is planning what you want to collect and how that data will inform your AI systems to improve the output—in other words\, creating your data strategy. We will walk through decisions you need to make and how to build a strategy to collect data that your AI systems can use effectively to automate and drive adaptive learning systems. You will actively work through the design of a data strategy during the session \nIn this session\, you will learn to: \n\nExplain the importance of a data strategy and its role in enabling effective AI systems\nDesign a data strategy that supports the development\, deployment\, and scaling of solutions\nApply a structured process to implement and manage a successful data strategy for AI initiatives\nDocument and communicate a data strategy to ensure alignment\, governance\, and long-term usability\n\nParticipants would benefit from having an understanding of data principles with some baseline on learning data schemas. \nBD03: Buzz Discussion: Data & Measurement\nNovember 4\, 2026 3:45 pm – 4:15 pm \nJoin your peers and speaker’s selected for specific tracks for an informal gathering to share ideas\, ask questions and extend the learning with like-minded colleagues.
